Terms of Service
Effective Date: March 24, 2026
Welcome to AppStride. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AppStride application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by AppStride (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use AppStride. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
2. Account Registration
To use AppStride, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You may not share your AppStride account with others or allow others to access the Service through your account. Each account is for a single individual’s personal job search use.
3. Description of the Service
AppStride is a job application co-pilot that helps you manage your professional content (resumes, cover letters, skills) and assists with filling out job application forms on third-party platforms. The Service includes:
- Resume and cover letter management, including AI-assisted content generation, editing, and optimization.
- Skills inventory and job matching based on your professional profile.
- The Stride co-pilot, a browser-based agent that fills job application forms on your behalf while you supervise the process in real time.
- ATS keyword analysis and resume scoring.
- A Q&A knowledge base that learns from your application history to improve future sessions.
- Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model configuration, allowing you to connect your own AI provider API keys.
4. The Stride Co-Pilot and Browser Automation
The Stride co-pilot is a core feature of AppStride that operates a web browser on your behalf to assist with filling job application forms on third-party applicant tracking system (ATS) platforms. This section describes how the co-pilot works and your responsibilities when using it.
4.1 How the Co-Pilot Works
When you initiate a Stride session, the co-pilot opens a browser, navigates to the job application URL you specify, and fills form fields using data from your profile, resume, Q&A knowledge base, and AI-generated content. You observe the co-pilot’s actions in real time through a live view in the AppStride interface. You can pause, correct, or take over from the co-pilot at any time.
4.2 User Review and Submission
The co-pilot is designed to stop at the review stage of every application. It will never submit an application on your behalf without your explicit review and approval. You are solely responsible for reviewing all content entered by the co-pilot before submission. By submitting an application, you confirm that all information is accurate and that you authorize its submission.
4.3 Responsible Usage Safeguards
AppStride includes application pacing and usage limits designed to promote responsible interaction with third-party platforms. These safeguards are built into the Service and are not configurable by users. They exist to ensure that your use of the co-pilot remains consistent with reasonable, human-directed job application activity.
4.4 Your Responsibility for Third-Party Platform Compliance
The co-pilot interacts with third-party ATS platforms (such as Workday, Greenhouse, and Lever) that have their own terms of service. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the terms of any third-party platform you access through the co-pilot. AppStride does not represent or warrant that use of the co-pilot is authorized by or compliant with any third-party platform’s terms of service.
If a third-party platform restricts, suspends, or terminates your account as a result of your use of the co-pilot or for any other reason, AppStride is not responsible and will not be liable for any resulting damages, including lost job opportunities.
4.5 Credential Storage
If you provide ATS login credentials for use with the co-pilot, those credentials are encrypted using industry-standard methods (Supabase Vault with libsodium) and stored securely. You authorize AppStride to use these credentials solely to log into the relevant ATS platform on your behalf during active Stride sessions. You may delete your stored credentials at any time. AppStride is not responsible for the security of credentials that are compromised due to factors outside our control, such as credential reuse, weak passwords, or compromised devices.
5. AI-Generated Content
AppStride uses artificial intelligence to generate, edit, and tailor professional content, including resume bullets, cover letter compositions, screening question answers, and professional summaries. Regarding AI-generated content:
- All AI-generated content is produced as a suggestion. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before it is used in any job application.
- AI models may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content. AppStride does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.
- You are solely responsible for the truthfulness and accuracy of all content submitted in your job applications, whether you wrote it, the AI generated it, or a combination of both.
- AppStride does not fabricate qualifications, credentials, or experience. Our AI tools are designed to help you articulate your actual experience. However, you must verify that all generated content accurately reflects your real qualifications.
6. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
AppStride allows you to connect your own API keys for third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Google AI, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI). When you use BYOK:
- Your API keys are encrypted and stored securely. They are decrypted only at the time of use and are never logged or exposed.
- Your content is sent to the AI provider you select using your API key. The processing of that content is governed by the provider’s terms of service and privacy policy, not AppStride’s.
- You are responsible for any costs incurred through your API keys. AppStride does not monitor, limit, or reimburse third-party API usage charges.
- You are responsible for securing your API keys. If you suspect a key has been compromised, revoke it immediately with the provider and update or remove it from AppStride.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use AppStride for any of the following purposes. Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination.
7.1 Fraudulent or Misleading Applications
- Submitting job applications containing false, fabricated, or materially misleading information about your qualifications, credentials, work history, education, or skills.
- Impersonating another person or applying for jobs using someone else’s identity or credentials.
- Creating fake or fictitious professional profiles for the purpose of submitting fraudulent applications.

7.2 Abuse of the Browser Agent
- Using the Stride co-pilot or any browser automation feature for any purpose other than assisting with your own legitimate job applications.
- Attempting to use the browser agent to access, scrape, or interact with websites or services unrelated to job applications.
- Deliberately circumventing anti-bot protections, CAPTCHAs, or security measures on third-party platforms beyond the normal operation of the Service.
- Using the browser agent to create fake ATS accounts or accounts using false information.
- Attempting to extract, export, or harvest data from third-party platforms through the browser agent.
- Attempting to modify, reverse-engineer, or tamper with the browser agent’s behavior, safety controls, or pacing mechanisms.
7.3 Spam and Abuse
- Submitting mass applications with the intent to flood employer systems, disrupt ATS platforms, or apply to positions you have no genuine interest in or qualification for.
- Using AppStride to send unsolicited communications to employers or recruiters.
- Attempting to bypass or override the application pacing safeguards built into the Service.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or account restrictions.
7.4 Security Violations

- Attempting to decrypt, decompile, or reverse-engineer any portion of the Service.
7.5 Misuse of Stored Credentials
- Storing third-party credentials (ATS passwords, API keys) that you do not own or are not authorized to use.
- Using stored credentials for any purpose other than their intended function within the Service.
- Sharing your AppStride account to give others access to credentials stored in your vault.
7.6 Legal and Ethical Violations
- Using the Service in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Using the Service to discriminate against others or to engage in any form of harassment.
- Using the Service to violate the intellectual property rights of others.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the content you provide to AppStride, including your resumes, cover letters, work history, skills, Q&A answers, and other professional materials. By using the Service, you grant AppStride a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
This license includes the right to generate vector embeddings of your content, create AI-generated variations and adaptations, and store application session data. This license terminates when you delete your account.
8.2 No Cross-User Training
AppStride does not use your personal content to train models or improve the service for other users. Learning and personalization are scoped to your individual account. Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (such as which features are most used) may be analyzed to improve the Service, but your personal content is never used to generate content for other users.
8.3 AppStride’s Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, algorithms, brand elements, documentation, and all related intellectual property, is owned by AppStride and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use AppStride’s trademarks, logos, or brand assets.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
9.1 Service Provided “As Is”
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. APPSTRIDE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
9.2 No Guarantee of Employment Outcomes
AppStride does not guarantee that use of the Service will result in job interviews, job offers, or employment. The Service is a tool to assist with the application process. Hiring decisions are made by employers, not by AppStride.
9.3 AI Content Disclaimer
AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations. AppStride does not warrant the accuracy or appropriateness of any content generated by AI models. You are solely responsible for verifying all content before submission.
9.4 Third-Party Platform Disclaimer
AppStride is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with any ATS platform (including Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, or any other applicant tracking system). AppStride does not guarantee compatibility with any particular ATS platform, and ATS platforms may change their interfaces, terms, or detection mechanisms at any time without notice. AppStride is not responsible for any action taken by a third-party platform in response to your use of the Service, including but not limited to account suspension, application rejection, or access restrictions.
9.5 Browser Session Reliability
Browser automation sessions may be interrupted by network issues, ATS platform timeouts, security challenges, or other technical factors. AppStride maintains field-level logs of agent activity to support recovery, but does not guarantee uninterrupted session completion. If a session is interrupted, AppStride provides tools to resume or reconstruct from saved progress, but cannot guarantee that all data will be recoverable in every scenario.
9.6 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL APPSTRIDE, ITS FOUNDER, AFFILIATES, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, JOB OPPORTUNITIES, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Any content generated, suggested, or filled by the AI or the co-pilot agent.
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or credentials.
- Actions taken by third-party platforms in response to your use of the Service.
- Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content that you submitted in a job application.
- Interruption, failure, or data loss during browser automation sessions.
- Any third-party service failure, including AI provider outages or pricing changes.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPSTRIDE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO APPSTRIDE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AppStride and its founder, employees, agents, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party platform’s terms of service.
- The content you submit, generate, or authorize for submission through the Service.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Any claim by a third party (including employers or ATS platforms) related to your use of the Service.
11. Service Availability and Modifications
We strive to maintain continuous availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Account Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time through the application settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently purged in accordance with our Privacy Policy (within 7 days).
12.2 Termination by Us

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of termination, except where immediate action is required to protect the Service, other users, or third parties.
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 9, 10, and 14) will remain in effect.
13. Data Export
You may request a copy of your data at any time by contacting us at support@appstride.io. We will provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format within 30 days of your request. Exportable data includes your profile information, resume content, cover letters, skills inventory, Q&A knowledge base, and application history.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in Hudson County, New Jersey. You agree that any arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action or consolidated proceeding.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights or to prevent irreparable harm.
15. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AppStride regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
- Force Majeure: AppStride is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet outages, third-party service failures, or government actions.
